Rob began his career in 1971, as an Engineering cadet with the Water
Conservation and Irrigation
Commission (now DLWC) and gained experience in design and
construction of dams, bridges and
culverts, and operation of irrigation systems. In 1981,
he switched to Local Government, spending 4
years at Blayney Shire Council on design and
construction of roads and bridges, then 2 years as
Deputy Shire Engineer at Dungog
Shire Council. Moving to Inverell in 1986, he held positions of
Manager Works Branch and
Supervising Engineer. In 1992, he established the Local Government
Engineering
Services Pty Ltd company.

achievements include:
Project Management,

and Documents Preparation

Project
management and supervision of construction of a new $3 million bridge at
Macksville (ref
Bruce Redman, 6568 2555).
- Project Management of Lake Cathie Rising Main: construction of a 2 km
wastewater rising main
including specifications and tender documents and contract
administration as Council’s
Superintendents Rep (ref Jeffrey Sharpe, Ph 6581 8619).
- Walcha Council: Project Management of Middle St Bridge (ref Steve
McCoy, Ph 6774 2515)
- Bellingen Shire Council: Two bridges on MR76 at Dorrigo, project
managed under the RTA’s Single
Invitation contract arrangements (ref
Warwick
Knight, 6655 1027).
- Project Management of two bridges on MR135. An Auspec specification
was written for the design
and construction of two bridges – total value $650,000 (ref
David Wolfenden, Ph 6779 1577).
- LEGS carried out an Emergency Risk Management study for Gloucester,
Great Lakes and Taree
councils.
- Project Management of two bridges (Doolan Deck) on MR 76 (Waterfall
Way). Work included all
pre-construction documentation required by RTA, and a full project
management service with on-site
supervision and cost control and reporting. Both bridges were
completed within the budget. (ref
